FRONTSTAGE
Masculinity between game and war

Two young actors, one from Ukraine and one from Russia, left their homes under different circumstances a year ago. Now they stand together on a stage.
However, the context of the war is always present and shapes the perspective and attitude of the audience and the performers, who are confronted with questions about heroism, masculinity and patriotism. Through personal stories acting becomes a (survival) strategy that allows them to show vulnerability, raises questions of identity, and helps to find a way to coexist together on stage.
